Tesla App Support

With the Tesla app, you can access your Tesla vehicle and energy products from anywhere. Download the iOS or Android app and sign in with your Tesla Account email address and password.
To use the available features in the Tesla app, your vehicle must be delivered, and you must have mobile app access enabled. If you have placed an order and are preparing to take delivery, you can access your Tesla Account and explore videos from the app.
Lock and unlock with phone key, manage climate controls and check for software updates. In cold weather conditions, precondition and defrost your vehicle directly from the app.
Check your range from anywhere, set your charge limit and view your charging history. On the road, use the app to find charging stations near you.
Analyze your vehicle’s charging behavior and view the estimated savings along with average costs spent based on the type of charging for your vehicle.
Make payments and keep track of your charging and Shop order history. Use Wallet to view, add and remove payment methods associated with your Tesla Account.
Schedule service and track your appointment status. In emergency situations, request roadside assistance in seconds. Diagnostic and location data is used to help you as fast as possible.
Purchase over-the-air upgrades and subscriptions to add additional features and functionalities to your vehicle. You can also find the latest accessories for your vehicle.
To access the Tesla app, your energy products must be installed and powered on. Learn more to get started with the Tesla app for energy products.
Use various control modes and features to meet your specific energy needs. Customize how your Powerwall is charged and discharged with features such as Self-Powered, Time-Based Control and more.
View your solar system’s energy production and home usage. The Tesla app displays a real-time power flow, illustrating how your Powerwall, grid connection and solar system work together to provide energy to your home.
Enable your Powerwall to provide backup energy protection in the event of a grid outage. Customize your reserve percentage based on your personal energy needs and security outlook.
Use the Tesla app to get help and troubleshoot your solar system and Powerwall. You can also access owner documents, view frequently asked questions and browse additional support articles to learn more about your energy products.
Tesla Shop is available in the Tesla app. Purchase charging equipment, vehicle accessories, Tesla branded merchandise and more.

- Sign in and out of the app
- Power your phone off and on
- Delete and reinstall the app
If you are experiencing performance issues with the app, try troubleshooting the app by following these steps:
- Sign out of the Tesla app and sign in using the email address associated with your Tesla Account.
- Confirm you are using the official Tesla app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Update to the latest version of the Tesla app.
- Turn off any connected virtual private networks (VPN) and restart your mobile device.
- Delete and reinstall the app.
Note: Deleting and reinstalling the app will require you to re-pair your phone key for any vehicle using a phone key.

You can sign in to the Tesla app using the same email address and password you used to place your order. If you are unable to sign in with that email address and password, you can try resetting your password.
If you're having trouble signing in with your email address, it’s possible you may have placed the order using a different email address or misspelled your email address when creating your account. Try signing in with other email addresses you use regularly. If you are still unable to sign in, contact the Customer Support team.

To check what version of the Tesla app you have, follow these steps:
- Open the Tesla app.
- Tap the menu in the top-right corner.
- Scroll down to the bottom where you will find the app version.

If you can’t see your vehicle in the Tesla app or are experiencing connectivity issues, follow these steps:
- Verify your vehicle is added to your Tesla Account. To add a vehicle, tap the menu in the top-right corner, tap 'Add/Remove Products,' then tap 'Vehicle' and follow the prompts.
- On your vehicle's touchscreen, verify Mobile Access is enabled by tapping 'Controls' > 'Safety & Security' > 'Allow Mobile Access.'
- If the issue persists, delete the app, reinstall it and sign back in.
Note: Deleting and reinstalling the app will require you to re-pair your phone key for any vehicle using a phone key.

Mobile Access allows your vehicle to communicate with mobile devices. Connect and disconnect remote vehicle access from the vehicle touchscreen. The mobile device and your vehicle must both be connected to cellular service.
To enable Mobile Access from your vehicle touchscreen, tap ‘Controls’ > ‘Safety’ > ‘Allow Mobile Access.’ To disable Mobile Access from your vehicle touchscreen, tap ‘Controls’ > ‘Safety’ > ‘Allow Mobile Access’ and provide your phone number for security verification.

The ‘Mobile Access Disabled' error occurs when Mobile Access is disabled on your vehicle or when your vehicle is in Service Mode.
To resolve this issue, try one of the following:
- On your vehicle's touchscreen, tap 'Controls' > 'Safety & Security' and confirm that 'Allow Mobile Access' is enabled.
- If your vehicle is currently at a Tesla Service Center or has an active service appointment, it is likely in Service Mode. Service Mode temporarily disables certain Tesla app functions for safety during repairs. When picking up your vehicle, confirm with your Service team that Service Mode is disabled and you have regained Mobile Access. If you continue to experience issues after pickup, schedule a service appointment in the Tesla app.

If you have more than one email address and password, transfer ownership of all your Tesla products to the Tesla Account you want to keep before deleting the accounts you no longer want to use.
If you delete a Tesla Account, you will lose any Tesla Credits, free Supercharging or other promotional benefits tied to that account. Before deleting a Tesla Account with any promotional benefits, contact the Customer Support team.

This may occur when the vehicle is idle for a long duration of time or when the vehicle battery is too low in charge. If your vehicle has been idle and is not connecting to the Tesla app, you can wake the vehicle. Here are a few ways to wake your vehicle:
- Opening the trunk
- Opening the vehicle’s doors
- Press the brake pedal
- Locking and unlocking from the Tesla app

To switch to a different product, swipe left on your vehicle or energy home screen.

To display the odometer, open the Tesla app and scroll down to the bottom of the main screen. You can also find the odometer on your vehicle’s touchscreen by selecting ‘Controls’ > ‘Software’ or ‘Controls’ > ‘Trips.’

View, add or remove payment methods at any time from Wallet in the Tesla app. All payment methods associated with your Tesla Account can be found in Wallet.
To view or add a payment method in the Tesla app, follow these steps:
- Tap the menu in the top-right corner.
- Tap your name > ‘Wallet.’
- To add a new payment method, tap ‘Add.’
- To set a payment method as default, open the payment method in Wallet, then tap ‘Set as Default.’
To remove a payment method in the Tesla app, follow these steps:
- Tap the menu in the top-right corner.
- Tap your name > ‘Wallet.’
- Tap the payment method you would like to remove.
- Tap ‘Remove.’
Note: If you are removing a payment method that is currently used for monthly payments, such as Premium Connectivity, Full Self-Driving, insurance, leasing or loans, you will be asked to select an alternative payment method before the removal is complete.
To update your Supercharging payment method in the Tesla app, follow these steps:
- Tap the menu in the top-right corner.
- Tap ‘Charging.’
- Tap ‘Manage Payment.’
